So why do I make products for Spellbinding Education?
I never dreamed I would become so involved in education as a child. I grew up wanting to be a writer or an editor, to use my love of language and grammar and inspire people and write stories.
But sometimes life has other plans, and during the pandemic, I fell into having to supervise the education of my very young children. Out of wanting the best for them, I started learning… and learning… And we took the dive into homeschooling, which had never been part of the plan.
Things have a way of working out both better and worse than expected. It turned out we loved homeschooling, and I loved applying my skills in psychology, graphic design, user research and testing, and communication design to instructional problems and curriculum choices.
Gradually, I began designing my own activities and classes, and eventually Spellbinding Education was born!
I believe firmly that learning should be as fun, magical, and wondrous as possible, while also being rigorous and challenging.
